PrimaryOne Health is currently seeking Dental Patient Support Specialist for our Columbus health centers.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Greets patients/customers in a positive and helpful manner with a smile. Provides directions, information, and other assistance as needed.
  • Answers phones in pleasant manner and deals with customer needs expeditiously.
  • Provides intake/registration of patients in the practice management system.
  • Confirms patient insurance eligibility and/or benefits.
  • Using computer system, generates fee slips for appointments according to prescribed procedures, reviews fee slip information for accuracy, and updates and/or corrects information as necessary.
  • Updates patient information, collects co-pays, provides any necessary forms needing completion, and obtains signatures as necessary.
  • Pulls medical records to check on authorization for medication refills.
  • Maintains clean, orderly waiting area.
  • Will make call to remind patient of appointment as instructed by supervisor.
  • Attendance, promptness, professionalism, the ability to pay attention to detail, cooperativeness with co-workers and supervisors, and politeness to customers, vendors, and patients.
  • Travel may be required.
  • Other duties or special projects as assigned.

Successful candidates must possess a high school diploma or equivalent. One year’s experience in a medical office, customer service or reception, preferably in medical office. Bilingual capabilities a plus.

General Summary: A nonexempt, clerical position responsible for providing outstanding customer service to the patients and their families. Greets patients, prepares necessary forms, and collects completed forms as necessary. Following prescribed procedures, obtains financial and demographic information from patients in a sensitive and caring manner. Maintains appropriate levels of confidentiality. Uses the practice management system to verify and update patient data and scheduled appointments as necessary.
