General Description
The Field Engineer’s role is to assist the Superintendent and Project Manager with the overall field management of the project with emphasis on coordination of work, coordination between trades, safety, quality control, coordinate deliveries / laydown areas, police & facilitate project cleanliness, keep up as-built documents and assist / coordinate inspections. Participate in schedule updates as well as short term look-ahead schedules. Assist with project closeout and training. Also participates in the preconstruction effort including estimating and purchasing.
Education
Position Requirements:
- B.S. in Construction Management or related engineering discipline or equivalent work experience in commercial construction.
- Required Software Proficiency: Office Suite, MS Project, Procore
- Procore certification is part of hiring orientation/training
- 30-Hr OSHA training is part of hiring orientation/training
- NPDES Blue Card is required within 6-mos of hiring
- Preferred Software Knowledge/Familiarity: CAD/BIM
Experience
- Degree or equivalent experience
- Previous intern or field experience
Duties And Responsibilities
- Provide input related to constructability
- Assist with permit process
- Meet with and review project with local inspectors
- Assist Superintendent with developing and executing overall Master Construction Schedule and near-term scheduling
- Assist Superintendent in organizing site to promote maximum productivity
- Maintain daily reports and keep records of activities onsite
- Maintain and communicate quality control program
- Prepare and conduct preconstruction meetings with subcontractor foremen.
- Participate in Pre-install Conferences with Subs, Architect, Engineer (s) and Owner
- Ensure all Mock-ups are planned and executed as required by specifications, iugis QC manual and as necessary to demonstrate proper installations and conflict resolution.
- Constant creation and completion of deficiencies lists
- Review contract documents in detail; ensure compliance in the field
- Obtain and direct the timely completion of punch list work
- Manage, ensure timely completion, and respond to all Owner, Architect, Engineer (s), testing consultants, ETC. field reports
- Execute BIM strategy plan
- Navigate through model
- Participate in BIM coordination meetings
- Review subcontractor’s models for conflicts and provide resolution input
- Communicate model to project team
- Review As-built Model for consistency with in-place work
- Execute iugis Safety Program
- Enforce iugis and subcontractors’ site-specific safety plans
- Prepare and conduct weekly job wide safety meetings
- Maintain and Perform weekly Safety Audits/Checklists
- Lead/Direct iugis Field Crews through various tasks as required
- Perform Material Take-offs and Estimates
- Maintain rain and weekly erosion control logs
