Cementer/Assembler/Matching I – All of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below would be expected for an employee to perform with guidance and training during the first few years of employment. There will be some positions that will continue to be this level when set ups and adjustments are not made by the employee.
Cementer/Assembler/Matching II – All of the essential duties and responsibilities listed below would be expected for an employee to perform at a confident proficient level in 2 or more years of experience. This would include setting up and making adjustments with minimal supervision.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Regular and punctual attendance is required
- Overtime hours may be required, if needed
- Safety:Hazardous materials, Escape Routes, Proper Apparel
- General flow of parts through plant.
- Quality Policy and other general quality issues.
- Understanding and use of pertinent work instructions and procedures.
- Proper handling of optics
- Scanning parts
- Identification of lens types and sides
- Control of non-conforming product
- Measuring Instruments – use and care
- Achromat matching
- Achromat cementing
- Achromat cementing on Ranko-Matic and set up
- Achromat cementing using “H” blocks
- Pearl Microscope – Set up and operation
- Laser spot quality testing
- Special painting jobs
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
Ability to understand, speak and read English to interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Mathematical Skills
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to solve common problems associated with the job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands and fingers to handle parts. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and walking is required when transporting parts from one area to another. Employee must be able to see up close in order to check quality of work.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. An UV-A light source is also used in this area. When using this light source UV eye protection and gloves may be required. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
