Job Description
We seek a Groceries Assistant to work in our food pantry. The Assistant will:
pack client grocery bags;
receive and store all supplies, organize grocery storage, and assist with product rotation;
assist with training and supervision of volunteers;
coordinate preparations for grocery deliveries including printing labels and following up on delivery numbers;
assist with inventory and ordering;
clean grocery and loading dock areas daily; and
visit food bank for supplies and products as needed.
This unique opportunity is perfect for a hard-working individual who enjoys contributing to the community and meeting new people. The Groceries Assistant will work a Tuesday thru Saturday schedule with daytime hours.
The successful candidate will have a high school diploma, driver’s license, and one year of work experience, preferably in a grocery or food establishment. Must be well-organized and able to reliably adhere to a schedule. Additional requirements include ability to be physically mobile, lift up to 50 pounds, and stand for long periods of time; good communication skills; basic arithmetic skills; ability to use a computer; ability to work patiently with people of varying ages and skills; and an appreciation for diversity. Offer of employment contingent upon a pre-employment drug test.
This position pays an hourly rate of $21.64.
