Position Summary
The Account Manager maintains relationships with existing customers and manages the day-to-day operations of assigned accounts. Account Managers carry out responsibilities in the following functional areas: customer service, correcting issues, and problem-solving.
Note: This is an after-hour role operating: Monday to Friday or Friday to Tuesday from 11 pm-7 am ET.
Responsibilities
- Developing professional relationships with assigned TRAFFIX customers
- Providing status updates to customers and/or sales when requested
- Working with Customer Service to track shipment pickup, in-transit updates, and deliveries
- Managing in-transit delays to have minimal impact on the customer
- Working with the TRAFFIX Bond Team when TRAFFIX Continuous Bond is in use
- Proactively identifying potential problems and/or issues and providing a solution whenever possible
- Managing customer complaints and providing a resolution
- All related filing and record-keeping
Position Details
- Manage existing customer relationships
- Providing quotes on adhoc and contract business
- Collects all required paperwork (e.g. POD’s) from potential customers and follows up accordingly
- Full cycle order processing ensuring that all loads are accurately received and entered in the TMS system
- Ensures all required paperwork is accurately completed, electronically filed, and communicated to all necessary parties
- Tracks shipments from pickup through delivery, ensuring accurate, up-to-date information is always available and communicated appropriately to customers and team members
- Ensures all customer-specific pickup and delivery KPIs are met
- Communicate any service delays or failures to the customer prior to the occurrence (or as soon as possible)
- Assists drivers on an ongoing basis to find locations, get directions, or contact third parties in order to ensure on-time deliveries
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years of experience as AM with TL/Ground Transportation.
- Experience working with freight forwarders in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with employees, carriers, drivers, and customers
- Strong knowledge of North American trucking regulations and geography
- Be able to effectively analyze potential problems/issues and proactively address to minimize the impact on the customer using creative and resourceful problem-solving
- Effective planning and organization with attention to detail and accuracy
- A team player who can also work with minimal supervision
Education & Experience
- 2+ years of experience as an AM in the Transportation environment
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite
- Experience with ground transportation/TL
- Capable of working in a fast-paced environment where quick thinking and proactive problem-solving are required daily.
