Who are we hiring?

As the VP Strategic Operations, you will contribute to developing and executing a strategy across a dynamic set of revenue and market growth opportunities. This role will be a critical thought partner to the SVP, helping scale and grow the business of the Sphere.

You will problem solve with significant breadth and depth, be responsible for identifying/driving strategic initiatives, and help lead a team of highly effective strategy and operations professionals.

You will provide business insights to grow revenue, reach target customers, and develop strategic recommendations and go-to-market strategies. You will drive major strategic and operational projects that support the success of the Sphere in the short- and long-term.

You will support the strategy creation process, and ensure effective communication, alignment, and execution of the organization’s strategy and roadmap. You will run projects and strategic organizational efforts as well as the overall business cadence.

You will report to and partner with the SVP of Strategic Operations and Alliances to set and communicate strategy and decision-making along with the broader organization.

What will you do?

  • Lead the planning and execution of major strategic initiatives across the business. Help define organization-wide strategies and provide metrics/insights on key business outcomes, driving operational efficiencies and ensuring the strategic vision is clearly communicated across the organization.
  • Define and track goals/plans for the organization and key stakeholders. Synthesize major decisions for communication between senior management and within the broader organization.
  • Develop, maintain, and update a consistent strategic narrative across all components of the business including scaled communications. Ensure strategy cascades to the broader organization and priorities are aligned.
  • Develop and articulate a clear vision for quarterly and annual growth over the next 3-5 years.
  • Lead team responsible for all critical initiatives, decisions and KPIs to drive the Sphere Strategic Operations team’s highest priority outcomes.
  • Evaluate option sets on areas of investment and growth from the market and shareholder lens; assess competitors and whitespace; and structure perspectives from ticket holders, corporations, governments, press, etc. to further shape and complement internal priorities and identify areas of opportunity.
  • Ensure meaningful cross-organization visibility, driving team unity and optimizing information flows, to help the Sphere reach its goals more quickly and impactfully.
  • Craft the systems, processes, infrastructure / tools, training and org structure and design for Sphere to deliver flawless execution in the most efficient and effective manner.

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical or quantitative/business-oriented field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 12 years of experience within one or more of the following fields: Strategy Consulting, Business Operations, or Corporate Strategy & Development.
  • 8 years of experience leading operational projects.
  • 5 years of experience leading teams.
  • Experience leading and influencing in a highly matrixed, cross-functional environment.
  • Senior operational experience within a large, complex organization.
  • Track-record in successfully delivering global strategy, operations, and high-impact growth initiatives, operating in highly ambiguous environments.

Special Requirements

  • Travel to New York, Las Vegas, and other Sphere locations.

Pay Range

$197,000—$300,000 USD
