Description

The Payment Processing Clerk handles the accurate sorting and processing of client checks, ensuring they are deposited according to specific rules. This position is also responsible for maintaining open communication with clients by providing updates, answering inquiries, and resolving concerns in a timely and professional manner. This position demands attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and a customer focused mindset.

Pay: starting at $18.00

Responsibilities

Check Sorting & Deposit Processing

  • Sort incoming checks into appropriate deposit piles based on established client rules.
  • Accurately process and deposit checks on behalf of clients within set deadlines.
  • Track all processed transactions and ensure accurate documentation.

Client Communication

  • Provide clients with timely updates on the status of their deposits.
  • Respond to client inquiries via email, addressing their questions and concerns promptly.
  • Maintain a professional tone and build positive relationships with clients.

Record Management

  • Ensure all client-related transactions are accurately logged and filed.
  • Regularly review and verify records to ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations.

Team Collaboration

  • Work closely with other team members to ensure smooth payment processing operations.
  • Share feedback and suggest process improvements when necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and memos.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Observes safety and security procedures. Reports potentially unsafe conditions; Uses equipment and materials properly, Wear PPE and following all safety procedures. (Report any safety hazards to supervisor.)
  • Preferential treatment given to candidates with prior payment processing, banking or admin support experience.

Physical Requirements

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50-pound boxes
  • Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time
  • Repetitive motion of hands, wrists, and fingers
