Job Description
- Responsible for maximizing delivery performance across all route-based fleet services within the region by driving the execution of logistic strategies to improve business process productivity and reduce costs while improving business profitability and customer satisfaction.
- Works very closely with the Operations and Commercial teams to ensure alignment between our operations, partners, and customers in delivering on our service promises.
Essential Functions
- Develop, evaluate, and maintain a diverse logistics plan that meets the current and future needs of the region by applying industry best practices with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and scalability.
- Manage activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking of transportation vehicles.
- Develop fleet and labor resource plans for the region. Implement plans to maximize utilization of resources and vehicle allocation.
- Analyze opportunities to improve logistics operational effectiveness as measured against key performance indicators.
- Interface with key stakeholders in the logistics process including customers, operations, procurement, safety, and others to maintain policies/standards/procedures.
- Coach and train field operations team on logistics & routing processes. Develop logistics-related SOPs and help ensure adherence to SOP’s.
- Create, monitor, and report on critical KPIs that measure the performance of the network against agreed-upon service standards. Work closely with operations teams to drive improvements in KPIs.
- Maintain the integrity of all data flow associated with the logistics platform and implement process changes that correct deviations from expected results.
- Maintain cost tracking that accurately improves the overall efficiency of the organization and reduces costs.
- Help region hit their financial targets/budgets by achieving route profitability and fleet utilization targets.
Competency And Experience
- At least 5+ years of significant logistics industry experience. Previous experience managing route-based logistics activities required.
- Hands-on leader and driver of implementation efforts.
- Industry knowledge including DOT regulations governing the use of Commercial Vehicles.
- Highly analytical with the ability to understand and resolve complex operational issues. Ability to manipulate & analyze data in Excel and other BI tools is essential.
- Strong technical skills as it relates to web-based applications/programs with the ability to learn and master different operating systems.
- Able to communicate well with all levels of the organization.
- College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
- Comfortable working across different regions, cultures, and time zones.
- Must be available for travel up to 25%.
