Job Description
This position shall be responsible for ensuring the compliance of all project sites with the applicable forestry-related laws, including its implementing rules and regulations. He/She shall lead on forest management and conservation. This position shall spearhead the coordination with the foresters and forest rangers on a regular basis for the monitoring and reporting of all forestry-related matters, issues/concerns that may arise throughout the duration of the project. This position shall also liaise with the different government agencies for the sound implementation of forest management consistent with the national regulations and company objectives.
- Provide assistance and support to all forest-related requirements and compliances by the ARI-PDE.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Report incidents to the concerned government agency, LGU, and the company.
- Create performance monitoring per project related to forestry-related laws, rules, and regulations, as well as ensuring that the projects are complying with them.
- Work hand in hand with the foresters and project-based forester (if any) and ensure compliance with the conditions of Tree-Cutting Permits and other government-issued tenurial instruments(i.e.,SLUP,FLAG,SAPA,etc.
- Act as a subject-matter expert for all forest-related management and monitoring.
- Collaborate with the Stakeholder Relationship Compliance Team in getting necessary documents such as SLUP, FLAG, EGGAR, Tree Cutting Permit, etc.
- Report forest-related statistics per project every month. Prepare and submit reports as required.
- Participate in the conduct of due diligence for potential projects.
- Facilitate and monitor the conduct of tree-inventory, tree-cutting, seedling replacement, tree-planting activities, payment of forest charges, and other impact management measures as may be required in the issued tree-cutting permits.
- Initiate and monitor the implementation of the projects and/or company-wide reforestation/tree-planting program in compliance with BOI requirements.
- Determine methods of cutting and removing timber with minimum waste and environmental damage and suggest methods of processing wood for various uses.
- Advise on the suppression of forest fires and conduct fire prevention programs.
- Assist in planning and implementing projects for the control of floods, soil erosion, tree diseases, and insect pests in forests.
- Generate spatial and geographical information maps, tables, charts, and reports needed for the management of forest-related requirements.
Minimum Qualifications
- At least 7 years of experience in handling forest-related management.
- Bachelor’s degree in forestry or forest-related courses.
- Must be a Licensed Forester.
- Strong analytical and planning skills;
- Good communication and presentation skills;
- Excellent problem-solving skills;
