At MaxLite, our vision is to transform the way people experience light. We are seeking an experienced Regional Sales Director to join our rapidly growing company and drive sales in the East Central region of the United States.
Job Summary
In your role as Regional Sales Director, you will be responsible for developing and executing sale plans for each territory in your region and for managing all employee, regional agency & distributor relationships. You will have the opportunity to showcase your strong business development skills to bring new sources of revenue to MaxLite and connect and empower our customers through energy-efficient technology. You will utilize your industry contacts, passion for superior service and lighting knowledge to develop new accounts and nurture existing relationships, with support from our highly motivated internal teams.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Responsible for managing key relationships with the following: Distribution Chains and Independents, Corporate Accounts, End Users, Electrical Contractors, ESCO’s, LMC’s, Lighting Manufacturers RSM’s, and Lighting Representative Firms across regions of responsibility.
- Effectively lead established employee and sales rep. network on product training and product changes along with providing pricing and quotes on projects, identify new business opportunities and market segments.
- Manages Agent Relationships
- Regularly evaluate performance, mentors and offers guidance around prioritizing time, schedule, negotiations and strategic direction.
- Provide daily advice, guidance & direction to attain maximum sales volume from all distribution markets for the MaxLite products and /or services.
- Upgrades agencies as necessary to best align with business needs and strategic areas of growth.
- Establishes professional customer/vendor relationships with appropriate customer personnel (purchasing, engineering, manufacturing, quality assurance, management, other key personnel)
- Works with project, design/build & energy teams at key distribution & ESCO’s to build a robust project pipeline and drive LED business growth.
- Manages and track projects submitted and follow up with employee and/or reps to ensure customer satisfaction
- Competitor analyses – analyze the competitive position of the organization’s products and/or services
- Working with Marketing & Communications – formulating and executes sales promotion policies and programs with distributor partners or across region with the purpose of driving sales.
- Management and control of all regional sales expenses (promotional, operating, travel & entertainment)
- Provide management prompt communication on all sale activities and important developments in the sales region (sales reports, competitor information, lost business reports etc..)
- Represent MaxLite portfolio at National and Regional trade shows as required
- Work with utility team to understand rebate programs and implement on MaxLite products
- Performs assigned duties with minimum personal supervision from the manager
Requirements
What we look for:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field preferred or relevant work experience
- 10+ years’ experience with demonstrated track record of success
- Advanced level of knowledge in the lighting industry strongly preferred
- Technical skills sufficient to understand process & product specification
- Innovative mindset to help analyze and improve work processes
- Ability to manage detail on multiple projects simultaneously; expert problem solver
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
- Superior interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; bilingual a plus
