DSP Scientist/Senior Scientist

As a key contributor, your primary responsibilities will be:

• Lab and industrial scale protein purification process design and optimisation
• Running and maintaining protein purification equipment
• Working with strict health and safety processes

Essential Expertise And Background

• Hands-on biology laboratory experience including operating protein purification chromatography systems (such as AKTA), cell homogenisers, DSP process design, optimisation and execution
• Experience with designing protein purification procedure at lab scale
• Experience with protein purification scale up for processing cell biomass from fermentations up to 100L scale
• Previous work in industry, especially in a high-growth startup within a multidisciplinary team
• An understanding of the importance of following and writing SOPs
• Perseverance in solving problems, with a strong ability to identify challenges and approach them with a solutions-oriented mindset to develop innovative solutions that align with company objective

Desirable

• Experience with E.coli protein production, protein purification and downstream processing of fermenter broth
• Experience with running lab scale fermenters and bioprocess design and optimisation
• Experience with bioprocess development and optimisation for protein production in E.coli

Education

Either of:

• Bachelor’s degree in biochemical engineering, microbiology, biotechnology, or related areas plus at least 4-6 years of industry experience or
• Master’s in biochemical engineering, microbiology, biotechnology, or related areas plus at least 3-5 years of industry experience or
• PhD in biochemical engineering, microbiology, biotechnology, or related areas plus at least 1-3 years of industry experience
