Scientific and Open Innovation Manager

Olistic is a nutraceutical company focused on hair health and general wellbeing founded in 2020 and launched its first product in the Spanish market in 2021. Within the last 3 years, the company has positioned itself as leader in the haircare nutraceutical space in Spain. Now, with the launch of the German market in November 2023, Olistic has taken it’s first step into international expansion.

Scientific studies have confirmed the multifactorial origin in hair loss and its relationship with health and lifestyle. The position

We are seeking a Scientific and Open Innovation Manager to lead research and development (R&D) activities for nutraceutical and cosmetic ingredients and products focused on hair health.

This role will also involve managing the company’s intellectual property, protecting innovations through patents, and contributing to the creation and publication of technical and scientific content.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage R&D projects for nutraceutical and cosmetic products with a focus on hair health.
• Built and implement an Open innovation strategy with KOL and entities related to hair health R&D.
• Conduct scientific and technical analysis to support product development and formulation.
• Develop and execute intellectual property strategies, including preparing and filing patent applications.
• Write and publish scientific articles in specialized journals related to hair health and cosmetic products.
• Monitor relevant legislation and regulations in the nutraceutical and cosmetic sectors.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including marketing, production, and quality departments.
• Provide technical and scientific support for ongoing and future projects.
• Stay updated on trends and advancements in the hair health industry to identify innovation opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Biology, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or a related field (postgraduate degree preferred).
• Proven experience in R&D within the nutraceutical and/or cosmetic sectors, particularly focused on hair health.
• Experience in technology transfer offices and intellectual property management.
• Strong background in scientific writing and previous publications in academic journals.
• Knowledge of the patent process and intellectual property strategies.
• Analytical thinking with problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• High-level English proficiency (C1 or equivalent).
