Job Description

  • Collect, process, and analyze geospatial data related to ARR project areas.
  • Validate the geospatial data using Google Earth and various indices.
  • Utilize remote sensing techniques to monitor land use changes, vegetation cover, and project outcomes.
  • Maintain and update GIS databases to ensure the accuracy and reliability of project data.
  • Organize and store spatial data in compliance with internal and external standards.
  • Support field teams with GPS data collection, processing, and integration into GIS platforms.
  • Generate geospatial reports, statistics, and insights to support project documentation and decision-making.
  • Assist in preparing submissions for compliance with certification standards and protocols.
  • Liaise with internal external stakeholders as required, ensuring alignment on geospatial requirements and deliverables.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in GIS, Geography, Environmental Science, Forestry, or a related field.
    • Proficiency in GIS software such as QGIS, ArcGIS, or similar platforms.
    • Knowledge of remote sensing techniques and tools like Google Earth Engine, SNAP, or others.
    • Experience with geospatial databases and scripting languages (e.g., Python, R) is a plus.
    • Familiarity with forest inventory methods, carbon accounting, and/or climate-related standards is desirable.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage large datasets.
    • Effective communication and collaboration skills.
    • Adaptability to work in dynamic and multidisciplinary environments.
