Job Description
Beech Brook, one of Northeast Ohio’s premier mental health agencies, is hiring a Nurturing Parenting and Supportive Visitation Coach. Nurturing Parenting is a family-centered, trauma-informed model design to build skills as an alternative to abusive and neglectful parenting and child-rearing practices. Services can be provided in a group or individual format, virtually, in home, community, and at Beech Brook Family Center. The goal of a Visitation Coach is to reduce and promote protective factors leading to successful reunification and permanency for the children who are in out-of-home care. Education:
- Associates Degree or minimum 3 years relevant experience
Essential Responsibilities (other duties as needed):
- PRN – available to work days, evenings, and/or weekends
- Provide educational and supportive services to parents with children ages 0-18
- Facilitation of Nurturing Parenting curriculum and/or support services during family visitations
- Recruiting and Engage families in services
- Master Nurturing Parenting Curriculum
- Provide timely documentation
- Ability to communication effectively
- Sessions are held both virtually and in the home when available
Qualifications:
- Excellent Communication Skills- Both Written and Verbal
- Previous experience working with youth and adults
- Personal reliable transportation is required
- No more than five driving points on driver’s license
- Must pass an employment, education and criminal background check
- Access to a computer and comfortable using Word, Excel, Outlook, and must have established internet access
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively as a team
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to needs of different clients
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous teaching, facilitating, instructing experience preferred
- Experience working in a community based environment
