Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designer with a passion for creating impactful training solutions. In this remote role, you will play a pivotal part in designing and developing dynamic training materials and programs that enhance the operation and service of heavy equipment. Your contributions will significantly benefit both our internal teams and our external clientele.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with subject matter experts to evaluate training needs and identify target audiences.
- Conduct comprehensive research and analysis to gain insights into the learners and the environments in which they will apply the training.
- Organize and maintain project documentation and course materials to ensure clarity and accessibility.
- Establish clear learning objectives and develop content that aligns with those goals.
- Create interactive learning activities, assignments, and assessments tailored to the audience’s needs.
- Analyze training needs to ensure coverage of necessary knowledge, skills, and competencies.
- Develop instructional strategies and learning plans customized for specific audiences and objectives.
- Work closely with stakeholders and experts to produce customized training solutions.
- Write and edit instructional content, including blueprints, storyboards, video scripts, job aids, and other learning materials.
- Design and develop blended learning solutions that may encompass instructor-led sessions, eLearning, mobile learning, video, gamification, simulations, micro-learning, and virtual classrooms.
- Ensure all training materials comply with branding and quality standards.
- Integrate innovative assessments and sustainment tools to support learners before and after training sessions.
- Manage multiple projects concurrently, meeting deadlines while ensuring high-quality deliverables.
- Provide expert guidance on course content, delivery methods, and media choices.
- Contribute to New Product service and operation training programs.
- Lead the enhancement and innovation of the curriculum, remaining current with industry trends, new technologies, and available resources.
- Review and update content to ensure compliance with development standards and industry best practices.
- Maintain and update the Learning Management System (LMS), web delivery platforms, mobile apps, and other training tools.
- Foster a positive company image through professional and supportive interactions with colleagues, customers, and leadership.
Required Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Graphic Design, Computer Science, Web Design, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience, or 5+ years of relevant instructional design experience.
- Demonstrated experience in creating instructional content for web-based delivery.
- Familiarity with blended eLearning solutions and course design for Learning Management Systems.
- Proficiency in authoring tools such as Adobe Captivate and Articulate 360.
- Experience with LMS platforms including Absorb, Docebo, Raven360, and LearnUpon.
- Ability to work independently in a collaborative environment, emphasizing high standards of quality and innovation.
- Flexibility to thrive in a high-volume, fast-paced setting.
- Excellent organizational and project management skills, capable of juggling multiple priorities and deadlines.
- A self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision and take initiative.
