About The Role
In this role you will:
- Provide timely high-level advice and assistance to the Deputy Director-General on strategic and operational business matters.
- Prepare, review and quality assure a range of written materials that support advice to government, including correspondence, briefing material, and information papers concerned with the initiatives delivered by the work area.
- Coordinate and contribute to key activities including business planning, projects and internal/external reporting requirements to ensure that they are timely and of a high standard.
- Provide effective communication and liaison services on behalf of the Deputy Director-General to a wide range of organisations, agencies, offices and individuals.
- Coordinate and contribute to cabinet, legislation and parliament processes including discussion papers, cabinet submissions, questions on notice, possible parliamentary questions and regional briefs, including undertaking quality assurance and editing.
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders on the delivery of divisional responses, including negotiating timeframes and input.
- Develop, monitor and evaluate internal processes and systems to ensure continuous improvement of strategic, operational and governance mechanisms.
- Actively participate in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with stakeholders within and across government and broader human services networks.
- Contribute to a professional environment through personal commitment to, ethical behaviour, staff wellbeing, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
- As a member of the team, undertake tasks allocated by the Deputy Director-General, Executive Manager or Principal Executive Officer in a constantly changing work environment to support innovation and efficient delivery.
