Role Description: Chief Financial Officer

Hamilton Health Box (HHB) is a rapidly growing healthcare startup operating hybrid telemedicine-enabled primary care clinics for businesses and rural communities across the country. Position Summary

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO), reporting to the CEO, is a strategic leader responsible for managing the financial operations of the organization to ensure long-term financial health, growth, and sustainability. The CFO provides strategic financial leadership, manages the company’s financial risks, and ensures accurate financial reporting and analysis.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead the development and monitoring of budgets, forecasts, and financial planning initiatives.
  • Participates in the budget process and expense management directives to ensure departments operate within approved budgets.
  • Develop and implement the organization’s financial strategy and establish long-term financial goals.
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling processes.
  • Monitor and analyze financial performance, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation of financial reports for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations, tax laws, and accounting standards.
  • Manage cash flow, investments, and funding requirements.
  • Identify, assess, and manage financial risks to mitigate potential impacts on the organization
  • Present financial updates and strategies to the Board of Directors and investors.
  • Lead and mentor the finance team to achieve departmental and organizational objectives.
  • Collaborate with executives to align financial plans with operational needs.
  • Cultivate relationships with external stakeholders, including investors, auditors, and financial institutions.
  • Ensure adherence to financial laws, regulations, and ethical standards,
  • Oversee tax planning and compliance activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field required (MBA/CPA preferred).
  • Master’s degree in business or related field. MBA, Finance, Accounting, or economics preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial modeling, forecasting, and reporting tools.
  • Experience in healthcare operations desired.
  • Experience in a startup or rapid growth environment desired.

Required Skills & Abilities

  • Ten (10) years of senior financial leadership experience preferably in Healthcare.
  • Proven track record of strategic financial management and growth.
  • Proficiency in financial software and tools.
  • Exceptional communication skills and executive presence, including strong formal presentation skills.
  • Experience collaborating with senior leadership on budget variances, including justifications and/or developing corrective measures and action plans.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret financial reports and contracts.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines and manage both short- and long-term projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to adapt to the needs of the organization and employees.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to navigate and manage multiple parallel work streams and projects.
