Duties
The specific responsibilities and tasks of the successful candidate will include:
- Develop novel bioinformatics tools (webservers & standalone) for analyzing plant genomics data.
- Develop new plant biological databases to advance in crop genetic improvement.
- Conduct scientific research in the field of genomics and molecular genetics of plants for better understanding of how plant genomes are structured, organized, evolve and function at the whole-genome level.
- Teach computational biology related courses to undergraduate and graduate students.
- Publish research in high impact factor journals.
Qualifications And Experience
Essential (please indicate in the cover letter):
- Minimum of 2 years as postdoctoral research in bioinformatics or equivalent with a good record of publications in the plant bioinformatics field.
- PhD. in Genomics, Bioinformatics or equivalent
- Experience supported by scientific records related to development new plant bioinformatics toolkits such as pipelines, webservers, and databases.
- Practical experience in analyzing extensive bioinformatics and/or genetics datasets.
- Programming skills (Python, Perl or R)
- Demonstrated publication record in well-ranked journals
- Ability to generate new ideas, links, and to build upon existing ideas to generate good concepts and solutions.
- Proven ability to fulfill the academic writing requirements for the development of proposals, reports, and scientific publications.
