Role Summary

The Senior Accountant role supports the company’s mission by performing day-to-day accounting activities and month-end closing and reconciling activities to ensure timely and accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP. The position will report to the Controller and will be a fully in person role out of our headquarters in Wichita, KS.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with preparation of monthly GAAP financials including month end journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, analysis of account balance changes, and reporting packages.
  • Lead project accounting, including monthly revenue recognition, coordination of T&M and firm bid billings, sales and use tax, and monthly reporting for assigned divisions.
  • Maintain and review accounts receivable and accounts payable.
  • Responsible for timely and accurate application of customer payments.
  • Assist in special projects, including financial audit and income tax preparation.
  • Develop and implement accounting procedures by analyzing current procedures and recommending changes.
  • Develop measures to help drive business decisions and results.
  • Become a SME on current systems to help train/guide employees.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Certification:

Bachelor degree in Accounting or Finance.

Required Knowledge & Experience:

  • 4-10 years Accounting/Finance experience preferred.
  • Exceptional business math skills.
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required.

Skills/Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be able to multi-task, maintain organization, and operate in a fluid and fast paced environment.
  • Must be a task-oriented team player with initiative.
  • Solid customer service abilities.
  • Sound reasoning and decision making skills.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position primarily works in an office environment; however, has potential for varied environments that may include off premise work and travel. Constant interaction with co-workers, customers, vendors, and general public.
