Job Description
The Health Educator will deliver high-quality educational sessions to patients and caregivers, empowering them with the knowledge and resources to better understand and manage their health. This role involves conducting educational sessions, tailoring content to diverse audiences, and fostering engagement while traveling across Puerto Rico as an event speaker. The Health Educator will collaborate with internal teams and community stakeholders to ensure consistent delivery of impactful programs.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Lead 3–4 educational events weekly across the Island, focusing on patients and caregivers, ensuring accessibility and consistency in program delivery.
- Create and present engaging PowerPoint presentations that simplify complex topics, ensuring content is accessible and easy to understand for patients and caregivers.
- Tailor session materials to address the unique needs of each audience, fostering an inclusive, supportive, and interactive learning environment.
- Regularly update expertise in areas such as caregiver support, safety protocols, nutrition, and symptom management. Integrate the latest evidence-based practices into sessions while maintaining a non-promotional stance.
- Collect, analyze, and report participant feedback to refine future educational programs, ensuring continuous improvement and relevance.
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing, Public Health, Education, or a related field.
- Valid medical credentials (e.g., Registered Nurse [RN], Licensed Practical Nurse [LPN], or equivalent) to deliver medically accurate and credible education.
- Previous experience in patient education, particularly in oncology or chronic care.
