Job Description

The Director of Project Management at Meade Engineering is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of design engineering projects. This role ensures that all projects align with the firm’s strategic goals, meet client expectations, and adhere to quality, schedule, and budget requirements. As the Director, you will lead and mentor a multidisciplinary project management team, refine processes, and collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to maintain Meade Engineering’s reputation for excellence.

Job Duties

  • Develop and implement project management frameworks tailored to design engineering processes, ensuring consistent delivery standards.
  • Collaborate with leadership to align project management practices with the firm’s vision and business objectives.
  • Drive strategic initiatives, such as expanding service offerings or entering new markets, through effective project planning and execution.
  • Oversee a portfolio of projects, ensuring scope, timeline, and financial goals are met while maintaining technical quality.
  • Act as the primary escalation point for high-value or complex design engineering projects.
  • Ensure multidisciplinary collaboration among teams, including architecture, engineering, and commissioning.
  • Build, lead, and inspire a high-performing project management team skilled in managing diverse engineering disciplines.
  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance the team’s expertise in project delivery and client management.
  • Set performance metrics and provide constructive feedback to ensure individual and team growth.
  • Establish and nurture strong relationships with clients, ensuring clarity on project goals, expectations, and deliverables.
  • Collaborate with clients to resolve issues, anticipate needs, and identify opportunities for additional services.
  • Represent the firm in client presentations, negotiations, and key project meetings.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, construction management, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • 10+ years of progressive project management experience in the design engineering industry, with 5+ years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of delivering complex, multidisciplinary projects, including data centers and mission-critical facilities.
  • PMP, PgMP, or other relevant project management certifications.
  • Strong understanding of design engineering processes, including architecture, structural, mechanical, electrical, and commissioning disciplines.
  • Proficiency in project management software and platforms (e.g., Primavera, MS Project, Procore).
  • Experience working in a multidisciplinary engineering firm.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to foster collaboration across diverse teams.
  • Exceptional client management, negotiation, and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Expertise in managing data center design and commissioning projects.
  • Familiarity with sustainable and innovative design practices.
