The shift pattern for this position is Mon-Sun day/night duty.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic registered nurse based within Ophthalmology inpatient department in Ward 1C, Gartnavel General Hospital. The successful candidate will be expected to work as part of the Ophthalmology team, and be involved in all pre and post op care needs within an inpatient environment. You will be required to work within a busy clinical area working collaboratively as part of the multidisciplinary team. Surgical inpatient experience would be preferable but not essential as full training will be given.

You will be expected to deliver a high standard of evidence based care utilising your clinical skills to assess patient’s needs, implement and evaluate care You should have excellent communication skills with an eagerness to learn. NHS Scotland is reducing their full time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024 but with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part time staff. However, as not all service areas will be able to adopt the 37 hour working week immediately from 1 April 2024, you may be required to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period for which you would be paid until the service you are working in changes rosters or working patterns to accommodate the new reduced working week.
