About The Role
As a Head chef you will collaborate with the owner and lead our kitchen operations while overseeing client catering orders, cafe reservations, and events. Additionally, you will manage all related administrative tasks. This role requires a mix of leadership, culinary expertise, and organisational skills to ensure seamless operations and exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities
Kitchen Operations:
Manage and supervise all aspects of catering kitchen operations, including menu planning, Cooking of food, food preparation, presentation, and quality control.
Conduct regular kitchen inspections and maintenance to uphold cleanliness and hygiene standards.
Oversee the ordering and inventory management of kitchen supplies and ingredients.
Team Leadership
Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and adherence to food safety standards.
Provide guidance and training on culinary techniques, recipe execution, and kitchen protocols.
Menu Development
Collaborate with the sales team to develop tailored menus and packages for catering orders.
Innovate and adapt menus to meet client preferences and dietary requirements.
Customer Engagement
Handle customer inquiries and feedback with professionalism and a commitment to customer satisfaction.
Represent Charlie & Franks at industry events, networking functions, and client meetings as needed.
Administrative Tasks
Manage catering orders, including invoicing, billing, and client communication.
Work closely with the dispatch and sales teams to ensure seamless delivery of catering services.
Skills And Qualifications
Minimum 3 years of experience in catering kitchen management and/or senior sous chef role.
Culinary degree or equivalent qualification preferred.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation techniques.
Proficiency in menu planning, costing, and portion control.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues and clients.
Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
Proficiency in computer skills, including MS Office and catering management software.
Sound understanding of OH&S/WHS standards.
Current Food Safety Supervisor certification is highly desirable.
