What You’ll Do
The Transportation Supervisor is responsible for the safety, performance and service of their facility(s) daily operations by leading their team members to ensure all procedures and policies are followed to foster a safe and efficient Transportation team. The position works with all facets of the business but particularly close with Transportation and Plant Operations personnel, reporting to the Transportation Manager.
This position will be on site at the Turlock facility, however, traveling to visit other Divert regional sites can be required as needed.
This position is a safety-sensitive position and requires a clear mind and diligence. The employee has the responsibility for his/her safety as well as the safety of others.
- Safety: Assure a safe and effective work environment and culture through hands-on training, ride along evaluations, documented processes, motivating and reinforcement of acceptable behavior.
- Performance: Implement strategies and policies to improve and optimize transportation ef?ciency by capturing and analyzing data
- Service: Ensure all transportation needs are properly conducted to meet our expected goals and objectives
- Operations Management: Overseeing the day-to-day transportation operations including route planning, driver and equipment scheduling, and driver management. Conduct all necessary investigations to determine the cause of and work with the necessary personnel to implement any follow ups to avoid their recurrence.
- People Management: Ensure all team members are accurately performing their daily policy and procedural tasks, conduct performance reviews and resolve employee issues that may include disciplinary actions.
- Budgeting and Cost Control: Responsible for transportation budgets, monitoring expenses and identifying opportunities
- Compliance: Working with the applicable team members to ensure compliance with all necessary rules/laws/regulations
- Maintenance: Work in partnership with Transportation personnel to support and execute our maintenance needs and plans.
What We’re Looking For
- High School diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2-5 years CDL Driving experience
- Maintain current CDL Class A license
- Previous supervision role that focused on people and process leadership
- Organizational and leadership skills
- Analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Interpersonal and communication skills
- Communicate written and oral data/information to diverse audiences
- Experience with computer tasks and programs (e.g. Microsoft products)
