POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Professional Services (DPS) acts under the direction of the Executive Director/Administrator of Absolute Home Health. This position is responsible for the day-to-day oversight and administration of the home health program, including the supervision of all home health staff. The DPS ensures compliance with all company policies and procedures, state and federal regulations, and accreditation standards. The DPS assures the program’s vision of high-quality patient-centered care in accordance with the home health mission and philosophy. In the absence of the Executive Director/Administrator, the DPS may serve as an Alternate Administrator. This is a full-time salary position. Applicants must have home health experience.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Requires a minimum of two years of home health RN experience that includes direct employee supervision.
  • Management experience including but not limited to, supervision, disciplinary actions, policy development, budgeting and staff development

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct responsibility for the delivery of quality care that meets client-specific needs in compliance with program/payer rules and physician orders
  • Responsible for efficient and effective utilization management in accordance with client needs, physician orders, and payer requirements
  • Facilitates communication and coordination of care between clients, families, caregivers, physicians, and other service providers as necessary
  • Assures efficient coordination of caregivers through case conferences and scheduling processes and appropriate utilization of services
  • Oversees quarterly record reviews and communicates findings and recommendations to Executive Director and home health personnel, assures current and accurate clinical records in compliance with documentation requirements and program-specific rules for coverage and qualifying criteria. Facilitates Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) meetings in accordance with regulations and standards. Plans and assures adherence to budgetary guidelines and exercises appropriate expense control management with Executive Director.
  • Assists growth strategies for the program such as: development of strong, customer service driven partnerships with providers and facilities, ensure appropriate staffing for referral acceptance/conversion, assist in brand/program recognition and development of ancillary offerings.
  • Assures all staff receive appropriate training and follow the policies for protected health information
  • Oversees the scheduling and competency of staff to assure safe, quality care and service
  • Oversees personnel management functions including staffing, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
  • Assures appropriate training to meet agency and regulatory requirements
  • Completes other assignments and duties as requested and assigned to accomplish the goals and objectives of the Company
  • May serve as an Alternate Administrator, in the absence of the Administrator.

EDUCATION:

  • Graduate of an approved school of professional nursing
  • Licensed in the State of Ohio, in good standing to practice as a registered nurse
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Microsoft Excel
