Job Summary
As a Safety Officer at Seabrook, you will be a vital contributor to maintaining a safe and secure environment for visitors, homeowners, and team members. Under the direction of management, your responsibilities will include patrolling and monitoring premises, responding to incidents, and implementing safety measures during events and parades. You will play a crucial role in preventing losses and damage, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and contributing to the overall well-being of the community.
Job Duties And Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
- Performs a variety of safety functions by patrolling property; monitoring surveillance equipment; inspecting buildings, equipment, and access points; permitting entry, as necessary.
- Responds to alarms, disturbances, or other matters; calls for assistance as needed.
- Prevents losses and damage by reporting irregularities; informing violators of policy and procedures; reporting trespassers and suspicious activity.
- Controls traffic for events and parades.
- Completes reports by recording observations, information, occurrences, and surveillance activities; interviewing witnesses; obtaining signatures.
- Adhere strictly to rules regarding health and safety and be aware of any company-related practices.
- Proactively identify and properly address safety issues. Act as a “champion of safety” for the organization.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Effective communication skills in English; proficiency in Spanish or other languages is a plus.
- Must be self-motivated with the ability to work without direct supervision whenever required to meet the demand of the company and the safety of the community.
- Basic math skills and the ability to use reasoning abilities to solve practical problems.
- Proficient in MS Office programs and willingness to learn new computer systems.
- First Aid and Basic Life Support Certifications preferred.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent level of work and educational experience.
- Possess a valid Washington State Driver’s License.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- All candidates must pass a background check prior to employment.
Physical Requirements
- Indoor/outdoor environment subject to changing conditions and temperatures.
- Regular exposure to fumes, dust, odors, heights, and loud noises.
- Driving a vehicle to conduct work.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Stamina to provide BLS and First Aid until emergency personnel arrive.
- Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time and walk moderate distances.
Hourly Rate: $19.25 per hour
