Job Overview

An esteemed global investment management firm is actively seeking to enhance its team by welcoming a Vice President/Senior Vice President with expertise in Credit Restructuring and Workout. This pivotal role presents a unique opportunity to oversee specialized illiquid credit investments while fostering and guiding a high-performing team. Initially, you will operate independently, but as the team scales, you will have the chance to influence its strategic direction and contribute significantly to its achievements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Independently manage a diverse portfolio of illiquid credit investments, monitoring business and financial performance alongside market trend analysis.
  • Review and interpret financial statements, cash flow forecasts, and covenant agreements.
  • Negotiate and implement amendments, waivers, consents, and related legal documents for asset management in both out-of-court and in-court restructuring settings.
  • Analyze and execute asset sales or refinancing strategies.
  • Communicate effectively with C-suite executives and other critical stakeholders.
  • Oversee the monthly valuation processes for all assigned investments.
  • Act as a “Player Coach,” balancing hands-on management of complex assets with mentorship and training for team members and support analysts.
  • Collaborate comprehensively with teams across the Front Office, Asset Management, Finance, and Operations.
  • Prepare presentations detailing transaction structures, financial forecasts, and restructuring recommendations.
  • Work closely with senior leadership to expand the team in alignment with the growth of the asset portfolio.

Required Skills

  • Strong capabilities in fundamental credit analysis, negotiation, and loan documentation.
  • Extensive knowledge of legal processes, including bankruptcy and UCC foreclosure, with an aptitude for directing attorneys through restructuring phases.
  • Proven expertise in managing a variety of complex credit structures, particularly in illiquid transactions across multiple industries.
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to produce clear, concise memoranda.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel modeling.
  • Well-established connections within the industry, including contacts at financial advisory firms and law offices.
  • High integrity and a strong work ethic, complemented by a collaborative spirit and a positive outlook.

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of relevant experience in credit and restructuring roles.
  • A track record of effectively managing complex credit structures and illiquid transactions.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
