Recreation Supervisor

Position Overview

We are seeking a Recreation Supervisor to develop and manage recreational activity programs and communications, encouraging guest participation while maintaining a safe and enjoyable environment. This role involves the oversight and upkeep of recreational facility operations and supplies.

Main Responsibilities

• Design recreational activity schedules and promotional materials using publishing software.
• Monitor inventory of supplies, materials, and equipment and report shortages to management.
• Recruit, register, and schedule guests to take part in recreational events, fostering an enjoyable atmosphere.
• Provide guests with information on available recreational amenities and uphold facility rules to ensure safety.
• Monitor activities to handle emergencies following established protocols and assist injured guests until professional help arrives.
• Maintain cleanliness and functionality of recreational equipment and supplies.
• Support management by training, motivating, and coaching staff, acting as a role model.
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and perform required safety trainings and certifications.
• Adhere strictly to corporate policies, maintain professional appearance, and safeguard confidential company data.
• Attend to guest service needs, including assisting guests with disabilities, and communicate clearly and courteously both in person and via telephone.
• Build and sustain positive working relationships with colleagues and guests.
• Handle customer transactions and payments as needed.
• Ensure compliance with quality standards and propose improvements for organizational excellence.
• Perform visual inspections of tools, equipment, and documents for accuracy and defects.
• Use computer systems and point of sale technology for information management.
• Perform physical tasks including standing, walking, sitting for extended periods, lifting, moving objects up to 25 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance, requiring fine motor skills and coordination.
• Navigate various physical environments including confined spaces, uneven surfaces, stairs, and service ramps.
• Complete other reasonable duties as assigned by management.

Qualifications

• Minimum of a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
• At least one year of related work experience in recreation supervision.
• One year of supervisory experience.
• Mandatory certifications including CPR and First Aid.
• Experience or certification with recreation and fitness equipment.
• Compliance with any additional certifications or training as required by local or state authorities.
