Job description
Overview
PJ Hegarty & Sons is looking to hire a Project Planner to support our construction team on a significant project based in the Dublin area. Reporting to the Contracts Manager, the Planner will collaborate with the broader management team to formulate, supervise, and report on baseline construction schedules across multiple CSA disciplines while integrating with MEP schedules to ensure coordinated delivery of the overall project.
Primary Responsibilities
- Deliver an effective and responsive planning service tailored to the project demands.
- Develop schedules for each phase covering various disciplines within the project scope.
- Ensure timely updates from area schedulers are accurate, consistent, and integrated into the master program.
- Conduct thorough quality assurance checks on schedules before sharing with clients.
- Track progress relative to planned schedules, analyze variances, and propose corrective measures.
- Coordinate the system used to measure progress throughout the project lifecycle.
- Prepare and present schedule status and control procedures to project teams and clients.
- Utilize schedule analysis tools such as filters, lookaheads, histograms, and S-curves to derive insights.
- Lead project programme planning, gathering and evaluating data to effectively schedule construction activities.
- Collaborate closely with Site Management teams to align planning and execution.
- Generate forecasts, variance reports, and related documentation essential for project monitoring and management.
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
- Between 3 to 5 years of experience as a Construction Planner.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Project and Primavera software.
- Exposure to main contracting roles on large-scale commercial construction projects encompassing Civil Works, Mechanical & Electrical (M&E), and Fit-Outs.
- Motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong communication skills, both written and oral.
- Demonstrated ability to utilize time efficiently to maximize productivity and achieve demanding targets.
- Adept at working independently and collaboratively within teams.
