Role Overview
The Hygiene Operative position is based at the Gateshead site and follows a 4-on, 4-off rotation, with shifts alternating between 6:00am–6:00pm and 6:00pm–6:00am. The hourly pay for this role is £14.40.
This opportunity is suited to someone who takes pride in cleanliness, follows safety procedures carefully, and wants to support food production through dependable hygiene practices.
Key Duties
- Follow health and safety rules and site procedures to remain fully compliant with company requirements and relevant regulations.
- Handle and store cleaning chemicals correctly, in line with COSHH and HAZOP guidance.
- Carry out cleaning tasks according to the established hygiene processes so internal and customer expectations are consistently met.
- Support production by ensuring cleaned equipment is supplied on time and in full within the area of responsibility.
- Recognise any development gaps and actively look for training opportunities to improve skills.
Candidate Profile
The ideal person is dependable, self-driven, and highly observant. Experience in a food manufacturing environment is an advantage. Helpful background knowledge includes Food Hygiene, Working at Height, COSHH, and a basic understanding of HACCP principles.
Additional Information
This role works on a 4 days on, 4 days off schedule, with rotating 12-hour shifts from 6:00am to 6:00pm and 6:00pm to 6:00am.
