Job description

Role Overview

The Joint Operations Planning Department at the National Environment Agency is responsible for coordinating the formulation of plans and ensuring the preparedness of NEA's ongoing operations alongside contingency and national emergency frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Branch Head in implementing and periodically reviewing Standing Operating Procedures, collaborating closely with Operations Divisions and Departments on incident management.
  • Oversee daily activities at the NEA Operations Centre, coordinating efforts with fellow Assistant Directors and Operation Managers.
  • Create and update contingency plans at both intra-agency and inter-agency levels.
  • Acquire comprehensive insight into various emergency and contingency plans and standing procedures to effectively respond to crises or emergency situations.
  • Design and facilitate exercises that test these plans, aiming to boost operational, contingency, and security readiness.
  • Perform secretariat responsibilities by organizing meetings and exercise planning sessions across multiple agency levels.

Candidate Profile

  • Possess between 10 to 15 years of extensive experience in operations planning, training, and administrative roles, preferably with the SAF or Home Team equivalents.
  • Experience with Operations Centre teams or as an Operations Trainer is advantageous.
  • Demonstrate strong communication and written skills.
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SharePoint is a plus.
  • Willingness to perform occasional shift duties on a rotational basis, including managing incidents beyond standard office hours and during weekends.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities and working with diverse stakeholders simultaneously.
