About the Role

Join Aspira Kingsmere Retirement Living as a full-time Dishwasher where your work directly supports the health and well-being of senior residents by maintaining sanitary kitchen environments. As part of this role, you will be part of a team dedicated to fostering a welcoming and respectful atmosphere, where each resident is more than a name—they are valued individuals with unique stories. Work Schedule and Pay

The role follows a biweekly rotating schedule:

  • Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday from 7:15 AM to 2:00 PM
  • Week 2: Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday from 7:15 AM to 2:00 PM

The offered wage for this position is $18.46 per hour.

Key Responsibilities

  • Thoroughly clean dishes, pots, glassware, and cutlery according to established sanitation protocols to ensure safety.
  • Correctly apply chemicals in dishwashing and pot-washing areas, utilizing methods such as the 3-sink pot washing procedure.
  • Maintain cleanliness of kitchen areas, including performing mopping duties as required.
  • Carry out scheduled cleaning tasks as per the site-specific cleaning plans.
  • Receive, unpack, and properly store deliveries from suppliers.
  • Communicate any issues or concerns to team leadership and suggest appropriate corrective measures.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned to support kitchen operations.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Minimum education level of Grade 10.
  • Possession of Smart Serve certification and at least one year of experience in dining room service.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with excellent verbal and written English communication.
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Safe Food Handling certification preferred but not mandatory.
  • Successful completion of a Vulnerable Sector Check and Criminal Records Check is mandatory.
  • Legal eligibility to work in Canada or possession of a valid work or study permit is required.
