Job description

Position Overview

This role primarily involves the removal of burrs, sharp edges, and surface flaws from metal fittings to meet rigorous aerospace industry criteria, working during the first shift.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform manual deburring using hand tools, including files, scrapers, and deburring knives.
  • Operate mechanical deburring machinery such as tumblers, grinders, and pneumatic devices.
  • Examine metal parts for burrs, sharp edges, and imperfections.
  • Ensure finished components conform to exact tolerances and aerospace quality standards.
  • Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders for accurate finishing.
  • Use measuring instruments like calipers and micrometers to check part dimensions.
  • Adhere to safety protocols, maintain cleanliness of the workspace, and manage hazardous materials properly when required.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance and production teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and upkeep of deburring tools and equipment.
  • Maintain accurate production records and documentation as required.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
  • Prior experience with deburring, finishing, or metalworking in aerospace is desirable.
  • Skilled in the use of hand and mechanical deburring tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and instructions effectively.
  • Strong detail orientation and dedication to producing high-quality parts.
  • Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing setting.
  • Good problem-solving skills and able to work independently or collaboratively.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 20 pounds, and perform repetitive hand movements.

Compensation

The hourly wage range for this position is $20.00 to $22.00.
