Data Analyst

Role overview

TEKsystems is hiring a Data Analyst to help Sales, Marketing, and Revenue teams turn data into practical business insights. In this contract-to-hire role, you will work closely with stakeholders to improve reporting, analyze performance, and support better decision-making through scalable data solutions.

What you will do

• Work with Sales, Marketing, Revenue, and other business partners to understand needs and provide actionable analysis
• Create, refine, and support advanced SQL queries for data retrieval, transformation, and troubleshooting
• Develop and update dashboards and reports in Tableau or comparable BI platforms
• Examine large and complex datasets to uncover trends, patterns, and growth opportunities
• Contribute to the building and tuning of data pipelines and warehouse environments
• Streamline recurring reporting tasks to improve speed and scalability
• Convert analytical results into clear, business-ready recommendations
• Share findings, progress, and suggestions with stakeholders and leadership
• Maintain strong standards for data accuracy, consistency, and quality across systems

Required background

• At least 2 years of experience in a Data Analyst role or a closely related position
• Strong command of SQL, including query creation, optimization, joins, indexing, and debugging
• Hands-on experience with Tableau or similar data visualization tools
• Prior support for business teams such as Sales, Marketing, or Revenue
• Solid analytical reasoning and problem-solving ability
• Comfort explaining technical findings to non-technical audiences
• Experience working with relational databases and large data volumes

Preferred experience

• Exposure to data warehousing and cloud platforms such as AWS Redshift
• Background in business intelligence, reporting, and data storytelling
• Experience building or automating data pipelines
• Understanding of KPI design and performance monitoring

Compensation and benefits

The pay rate for this contract role is $65.00 to $82.00 per hour.
