We launched the first mobile-first insurance platform, making insurance accessible online to millions across Southeast Asia. Currently, BJAK is the leading insurance platform in this region. Our expansion includes services such as spending, saving, investing, exchanging, and travel, aimed at helping people maximize their money daily. Our global team includes over 20 nationalities working both from offices and remotely, passionate about delivering outstanding financial products.
Role Overview
We are seeking experienced Android engineers to develop BJAK's native Android applications. The ideal candidate is passionate about delivering clean user experiences, high performance, and reliable mobile features for real customers.
Responsibilities
- Develop and deploy Android features by leveraging Kotlin.
- Design smooth and intuitive mobile workflows related to insurance, payments, claims, renewals, and financial services.
- Collaborate with product and design teams to streamline complex user journeys.
- Implement backend API integrations ensuring secure, stable, and robust mobile flows.
- Optimize application performance, including crash rates, loading times, responsiveness, and memory use.
- Utilize analytics, user behavior insights, and production data to enhance the product continually.
- Integrate AI-driven mobile experiences judiciously to improve user interactions.
Candidate Profile
- At least 3 years of professional Android development experience using Kotlin.
- Solid understanding of Android fundamentals with a proven record of launching production apps.
- Proficient with Jetpack components, Coroutines, Flow, and modern Android application architecture.
- Strong design sense regarding mobile UX, usability, edge cases, and user flows.
- Experience in integrating RESTful APIs and troubleshooting production-level issues.
- Rapid development capabilities with high ownership and a keen focus on product quality.
- Providing samples of previous work like app links, GitHub repositories, screenshots is a significant advantage.
