About the Role

Join a busy and well-established workshop in Avondale as a skilled Wheel Alignment and Tyre Technician. This role offers hands-on experience with various vehicles including passenger cars, SUVs, vans, utes, and 4WDs. You'll be part of a small, friendly, and supportive team where quality workmanship and independence are valued.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform precise wheel alignments following manufacturer guidelines.
  • Identify and diagnose issues related to wheel alignment and suspension systems.
  • Fit, balance, and repair tyres efficiently.
  • Conduct puncture repairs promptly.
  • Operate workshop machinery with safety and proficiency.
  • Deliver excellent customer service including providing expert advice.
  • Support tyre sales and suggest appropriate products, with training provided.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of five years experience conducting wheel alignments and tyre fitting in New Zealand.
  • Strong competency in diagnosing alignment problems.
  • Holder of a full and clean New Zealand Driver Licence.
  • Good verbal communication skills with excellent English proficiency.
  • Detail-oriented with pride in achieving high-quality work standards.
  • Ability to operate both independently and collaboratively within a small team environment.
  • Professional, dependable, and positive attitude.

Additional Information

  • This is a Monday to Friday position with occasional Saturday mornings when required.
  • The workweek totals 45 hours with flexible start times at either 7:30 AM or 8:00 AM.
  • Approximately 8 to 12 wheel alignments are performed daily at the workshop.
  • Employment is subject to passing a pre-employment drug screening, completing a Ministry of Justice background check, and providing two recent employment references.
