Warehouse Assistant

About the Role

Farnell, an Avnet company, is a leading global distributor specializing in technology products, services, and solutions for electronic system design, maintenance, and repair. We are seeking a Warehouse Assistant to support various distribution center functions including packing, shipping, receiving, order fulfillment, stock handling, storage, and inventory management. This role is pivotal in delivering high-quality, cost-effective, and efficient services to meet current and future customer demands.

Key Responsibilities

• Complete order fulfillment from inventory while adhering to customer requirements and inspection/testing procedures.
• Ensure timely shipment of orders and accurate completion of all related documentation.
• Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding any issues or challenges encountered during fulfillment.
• Receive, unpack, and examine incoming materials against purchase orders, returning any defective items.
• Maintain accurate documentation such as packing lists, shipping labels, and related materials.
• Identify, investigate, and contribute to process improvement efforts, focusing on key performance metrics.
• Update and maintain system records as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned to support the team.

• Work independently with minimal supervision, managing priorities and time effectively.

Experience and Education

• Minimum of two years' relevant work experience in warehouse or distribution operations.
• High School Diploma or an equivalent qualification is required.

Physical Requirements and Certifications

• Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 50 pounds safely.
• Forklift certification may be required.
• Ability to meet specified visual acuity standards when performing final inspections.
• Capability to stand, bend, stoop, squat, twist, and work at heights over 15 feet.
