Job Overview
Relics Wood Industries is seeking an experienced Site Engineer specializing in interior and fit-out projects. This role requires daily supervision and management of commercial and residential interior project executions, ensuring adherence to approved plans, specifications, budgets, and timelines. The candidate will liaise with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, consultants, and clients and maintain high quality and safety standards on site.
Primary Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage day-to-day site activities related to interior and fit-out projects.
- Ensure execution complies strictly with approved drawings, specifications, BOQ, and project timelines.
- Collaborate closely with architects, designers, consultants, MEP teams, contractors, and vendors for smooth project delivery.
- Read and interpret architectural, interior, civil, and MEP plans accurately.
- Supervise and monitor work such as civil construction, partitions, false ceilings, flooring, painting, carpentry, joinery, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, glass installation, facade, and other related fit-out operations.
- Verify site dimensions, levels, and measurements before commencing execution.
- Ensure proper workflow and coordination among various trades to avoid conflicts.
- Monitor subcontractors and labor to ensure productivity and workmanship meet required standards.
- Inspect incoming materials for compliance with approved samples and project specifications.
- Maintain quality assurance standards and promptly identify and rectify any defects or deviations.
- Track project progress against schedules and promptly inform the Project Manager of any delays or issues.
- Coordinate material procurement and ensure timely availability on site.
- Prepare detailed daily and weekly progress reports, site measurements, checklists, and project documentation.
- Verify work quantities and measurements executed by subcontractors for accuracy.
- Support BOQ preparation, work order processing, material requisition, and billing measurement activities.
- Maintain site cleanliness, enforce safety procedures, and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in site meetings and help resolve technical and execution challenges.
- Raise Requests for Information (RFIs) and coordinate clarifications on design or drawing issues.
- Oversee snagging, rectification, testing, and final handover procedures.
- Interface with clients and consultants during inspections to obtain approvals.
- Maintain comprehensive documentation including drawings, revisions, approvals, inspection records, and site instructions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Diploma or Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, Architecture, or related field.
- Minimum 2 years to up to 6 years of relevant experience in interior fit-outs, commercial or residential interiors, or construction sectors.
- Preference for candidates with practical site execution expertise.
- Willingness and ability to travel across India as required.
