Job description
Role Overview
A respected financial services firm in New Zealand, known for its enterprise-grade operations and strong market presence, is undertaking significant transformation initiatives to fuel its next phase of growth. We are looking for a Senior Project Manager within the Transformation Office to oversee the end-to-end delivery of strategic projects across Technology, Operations, and Business/Product teams. This impactful role involves managing multiple concurrent projects from inception through delivery and benefits realization, responsible for governance, budgeting, risk, and final outcomes.
Key Responsibilities and Skills
- Lead the full lifecycle management of several simultaneous projects, including those with budgets approximating $1 million, specifically within the financial services domain.
- Plan, organize, and analyze to set project scope, goals, and success criteria effectively.
- Manage initiatives across diverse areas such as digital customer platforms, new product introductions, and operational enhancements.
- Engage and communicate adeptly with stakeholders, influencing and partnering across teams and leadership levels.
- Apply deep knowledge of project methodologies such as Waterfall, Agile/Scrum, and PRINCE2 with hands-on experience.
- Utilize financial and commercial insight for budget management, ensuring projects align with strategic business priorities.
- Oversee project portfolio management practices and present clear, concise progress updates to senior leadership.
- Mentor junior project managers and coordinators to foster effective delivery practices.
- Adapt to evolving project scopes and organizational priorities, managing external vendors and supplier performance effectively.
Qualifications and Additional Details
- Possess tertiary qualifications in Business, Finance, Technology, Project Management, or related disciplines.
- Professional certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile/Scrum Master accreditation are highly favored.
- Applicants must reside in New Zealand and have a valid work visa to be eligible.
