Safety Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated Safety Officer with 3 to 5 years of proven experience to uphold a safe and regulatory-compliant environment at our worksites. This role involves hazard identification, safety inspections, enforcement of safety policies, and fostering a culture of safety awareness among all employees and contractors.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform periodic safety inspections on workplace sites to detect potential hazards.
• Implement and oversee adherence to company Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies and guidelines.
• Carry out risk assessments and suggest adequate control measures to mitigate risks.
• Investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near misses, compiling detailed reports.
• Conduct safety inductions, lead toolbox talks, and arrange continual safety education sessions.
• Ensure all personnel use proper personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Monitor compliance with established safe work protocols and regulatory standards.
• Maintain accurate safety documentation including reports, inspection logs, and safety permits.
• Organize emergency preparedness drills, including fire safety checks and evacuation procedures.
• Assist in the development of Job Safety Analysis (JSA), Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
• Identify unsafe behaviors and conditions, ensuring corrective actions are promptly applied.
• Collaborate with supervisors, contractors, and management to promote safety effectiveness.
• Encourage ongoing enhancement of safety standards in the workplace.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma or Degree in Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related disciplines.
• Between 3 and 5 years of experience as a Safety Officer or HSE Officer.
• Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, ADIS, DIS, or equivalent are preferred.
• Comprehensive understanding of workplace safety protocols, risk assessments, PPE, fire safety, and emergency response procedures.
• Proficient in safety documentation and reporting.

Skills Required

• Effective communication and good interpersonal skills.
• Excellent ability to identify and assess hazards.
• Experience in conducting toolbox talks and facilitating safety trainings.
• Proficiency in using MS Office tools.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Capability to work independently and enforce safety practices effectively on site.

Additional Information
