Principal Engineer / Senior Engineer - Photo Process

Job Overview

We are seeking a Principal Engineer or Senior Engineer specialized in Photo Process to join our team at Vanguard International Semiconductor Corporation in Singapore. The role requires in-depth expertise in SPC chart analysis, process optimization, equipment qualification, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance yield, productivity, and quality compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret SPC charts using SPACE software, applying PR rules for quality troubleshooting of out-of-control conditions (OOC), and understanding CP and CPK indices.
• Monitor critical SPC charts daily, conduct process window studies, and propose improvement plans to reduce OOC and enhance CPK values.
• Analyze split lot data, design of experiments (DOE), equipment tests (ET), and sort yield leveraging JMP and Klarity ACE tools.
• Create and modify SPC charts, data control plans (DCOP), and standard lot documents (SLDB) using PROMIS (Si-View).
• Manage recipe uploads, verify recipe content, and ensure compliance through RMS.
• Handle follow-ups related to SPSR, MRB, 8D reports, technical engineering change notices (TECN), and specification updates with ECN.
• Set up and troubleshoot recipes and job files on all metrology tools within the module.
• Coordinate process issue troubleshooting via pass-downs; establish corrective action systems and collaborate with different departments as needed.
• Lead startup and qualification of new processes and equipment within scheduled timelines, working closely with Equipment Engineers on new equipment acceptance and R&R runs.
• Work on minimizing process constraints to increase manufacturing flexibility.
• Perform equipment matching to reduce variation, including analysis and DOE to identify factors for improved tool matching.
• Engage in continuous improvement programs (CIP) aimed at optimizing process windows, cost efficiency, yield, and productivity.
• Collaborate closely with Equipment and Manufacturing Engineers to achieve module objectives, focusing on uptime and Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) targets.
• Represent the module in cross-functional task teams addressing yield improvements and excursion issues; participate in cross-fab benchmarking to implement best practices.
• Conduct self-audits and update documentation to comply with TS16949 Quality Standards.
• Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to safety protocols both in office and fab environments.
• Provide feedback and training to Assistant Engineers and Technicians to enhance troubleshooting, process understanding, decision making, and risk evaluation skills.

Candidate Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Microelectronics, Chemical Process, Chemistry, or Physics.
• At least 3 years of hands-on experience in Photo Process engineering.
• Strong team player with excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities.
• Demonstrated logical reasoning and analytical skills.
• High integrity and leadership qualities to lead and coach teams effectively.
• Driven and accountable, capable of owning tasks responsibly.
