Job description
Role Overview
We seek an experienced Payroll Administrator to join a reputable company located in Metairie, Louisiana. This position requires accurate full-cycle payroll management while supporting key accounting operations within a team-oriented environment. The role demands organizational skills, the ability to work independently under direction, and responsibility for sustaining dependable payroll processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately execute complete payroll processing for all employees on schedule, maintaining thorough and up-to-date records.
- Manage payroll-related functions including tax reporting, retirement plan deductions, and necessary reconciliations.
- Prepare and record payroll journal entries to aid in precise financial accounting.
- Inspect payroll data for inconsistencies, resolve discrepancies promptly, and ensure adherence to internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Utilize accounting software alongside Microsoft Excel to handle payroll data, generate reports, and provide daily payroll administration support.
- Collaborate with accounting staff and internal parties to confirm proper payroll documentation and communication.
- Operate autonomously to prioritize responsibilities, follow instructions well, and support the accounting team's overall objectives.
Qualifications and Experience
- Minimum of three years managing end-to-end payroll processing.
- Strong understanding of payroll tax regulations and payroll compliance tasks.
- Experienced in preparing payroll journal entries and maintaining accounting records.
- Proficient in accounting systems and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Prior experience in construction or engineering sectors is advantageous.
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Capable of independent work, receptive to guidance, and proactive in a dynamic workplace.
