Maintenance Fitter

About the Role

Dawn Meats, a leading premium meat processor with annual revenues exceeding €4.5 billion and operations in 13 countries, is seeking a Maintenance Fitter for its Grannagh facility in County Waterford. This permanent position involves providing technical expertise and problem-solving support to both the plant and maintenance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement and support plant-specific maintenance strategies to meet key performance indicators and enhance overall maintenance effectiveness.
• Assist production teams to ensure scheduled outputs are met by promptly resolving maintenance-related issues.
• Inspect machinery and equipment to verify compliance with established standards.
• Perform assigned work orders efficiently and safely, strictly following company procedures.
• Record all job details accurately using a mobile handheld field device upon task completion.
• Gain comprehensive knowledge of all mechanical equipment used on-site.
• Complete all required documentation thoroughly.
• Adhere to all site Health and Safety regulations consistently.
• Participate in training and review Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) to maintain compliance.

Candidate Profile and Qualifications

• Time-served Mechanical, Automation & Maintenance Fitter (MAMF) with at least 3 years of experience post-apprenticeship.
• Proficient in handling machines, process equipment, controls, and automation systems.
• Experienced in electrical and mechanical installations, general maintenance, and refrigeration systems.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, suitable to fulfill job requirements effectively.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills with the ability to logically analyze and resolve issues.
• Valid full driving license.
• Capable of working independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively with a team.
• Flexible regarding working hours, able to accommodate shifts, overtime, and on-call duties.
