Lead Data Scientist

About the Role

Join Flutter UK & Ireland, the largest global sports betting and iGaming company, as a Lead Data Scientist focused on pricing. Based in Dublin, you will be part of the UK & Ireland Trading team that drives performance and innovation across our top brands—Paddy Power, Betfair, and Sky Betting & Gaming. The Pricing function is critical in creating and deploying new pricing strategies to maintain market leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement advanced data science methods to enhance pricing strategies through predictive modeling and experimentation.
• Perform extensive statistical analysis and data manipulation to interpret experimental results, detect patterns, and generate actionable insights.
• Oversee experimental design including setup and statistical evaluation, ensuring reliable and meaningful outcomes.
• Create automated systems to monitor numerous price experiments and strategies, tracking key metrics and alerting relevant teams.
• Document methodologies and experiment results comprehensively to guarantee clarity, reproducibility, and transparency.
• Present findings effectively to stakeholders, translating complex data insights into business strategy recommendations.
• Collaborate closely with commercial, finance, and product teams to synchronize data-driven insights with strategic objectives.
• Lead, coordinate, and support senior data scientists to manage workloads and foster their professional growth.

Required Qualifications and Skills

• Proven leadership experience managing a data science function, ideally in commercial or customer-centric industries.
• Strong proficiency in analytic tools and programming languages such as Python, SQL, Excel, and Tableau.
• Advanced quantitative and statistical skills, with experience handling complex datasets.
• Competence in experimental design including sampling strategies and A/B testing.
• Expertise in statistical modeling techniques like regression, clustering, significance testing, and time-series analysis.
• Meticulous documentation skills with the ability to produce clear, concise reports.
• Excellent verbal and written communication capabilities for diverse audience engagement.
• Effective problem-solving mindset and initiative-taking approach to continuous improvement.
• Ability to manage multiple analytics projects simultaneously, delivering results within tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills to build collaborative relationships across business units.
• Experience applying pricing or pricing strategy analytics in large organizations is highly desirable.
