Job Overview
We are seeking full-time or part-time Delivery Van Drivers based in Pontypridd, South Wales. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating company vans safely to collect, transport, and deliver parcels and freight to customers and regional depots. The position entails route planning, vehicle loading and unloading, verifying delivery paperwork, securing delivery confirmations, and maintaining precise delivery and collection records.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Plan and organize efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled timelines.
- Load and unload parcels and freight carefully and safely.
- Complete delivery paperwork accurately and obtain proof of delivery when required.
- Conduct routine vehicle checks and promptly report any maintenance concerns.
- Ensure compliance with traffic regulations and company safety policies.
- Maintain courteous and professional interactions with customers and coworkers.
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Possess a valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience in delivery driving, courier roles, or logistics operations.
- Warehouse experience is advantageous for handling inventory and understanding logistics.
- Time management skills and the ability to efficiently plan delivery routes.
- Physical capability to safely lift and manage heavy parcels and freight.
- Strong attention to detail in verifying delivery documents and maintaining records.
- Effective communication skills for customer and team interaction.
- Dependable, punctual, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
- Experience in domestic or international logistics is beneficial but not mandatory.
