This opportunity is shared on behalf of a partner employer that handles the application review and the next stages of the process. The partner company is hiring a Data Manager in Germany to support clinical trial data operations.
The position sits at the crossroads of clinical research, data management, and technology. You will help maintain the precision, consistency, and reliability of important clinical trial data that supports medical innovation and better patient care. The role involves working with clinical project teams and outside collaborators, managing the end-to-end lifecycle of clinical data systems, and improving database and data transfer processes in a regulated setting. Key responsibilities
- Manage data activities across clinical studies and safeguard the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of all study data.
- Work with clinical project managers to make sure data processes match study scope, requirements, and delivery timelines.
- Build, validate, and maintain study-specific clinical databases.
- Prepare and implement data transfer requirements with internal stakeholders and external clients.
- Develop, validate, and run data exports using tools such as SQL and R.
- Deliver data transfers and reporting outputs on time and to a high standard.
- Help improve workflows, operating standards, and documentation for data management.
- Operate in line with relevant clinical research standards and regulatory expectations.
Requirements
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in a scientific discipline such as biomedical science, biology, pharmaceuticals, medicine, or bioinformatics, or equivalent experience in data management.
- Prior experience in data management, ideally in a pharmaceutical, biotech, or clinical research setting.
- Strong hands-on knowledge of SQL and structured databases.
- A sharp eye for detail and a strong commitment to data quality and accuracy.
- Good analytical thinking, problem-solving ability, and sound judgment.
- Ability to work independently while juggling several priorities in an organized environment.
- Well-developed communication, planning, and time-management skills.
- Comfort working with IT systems and data-oriented workflows.
- Exposure to R, laboratory information systems (LIS), or similar tools would be beneficial.
- Experience with regulated frameworks such as CAP, CLIA, or GCP, or with FDA-related guidance, is an advantage but not mandatory.
