About the Role
As the representative of Tesco when on the road, Customer Delivery Drivers visit customers' homes daily. This role extends beyond simple driving; it involves assisting people and providing excellent service with a positive attitude. The position is hands-on and physically active, offering varied shifts without repetition. While much of the work is done independently, a supportive team of managers and colleagues is available at the base when needed.
Job Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of your van, trays, and workspace to ensure every customer's order arrives in perfect condition.
- Load the delivery van safely and perform all necessary checks to confirm the vehicle is roadworthy and dependable for delivering excellent service.
- Communicate clearly and kindly with customers regarding any order modifications, substitutions, or items nearing expiration, offering refunds when appropriate to ensure a smooth interaction.
- Handle all products responsibly, treating each order with care to maintain product quality and customer confidence.
- Deliver orders within the customer's allocated time window, offering friendly, natural service at the door to leave customers feeling valued and well supported.
Candidate Requirements
- Ability to build strong, positive relationships with colleagues to foster great team morale and offer the best customer service.
- Being warm, welcoming, and approachable with both customers and teammates.
- Adapt quickly to evolving customer needs and embrace changes both on the road and within the store environment.
- Hold a valid UK/EU/EEA driving licence (full or automatic) for at least one year, with no more than three penalty points on your record.
