Custodian

Role Overview

This position is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and order throughout the facility and surrounding areas. The role includes routine janitorial work, restocking supplies, handling waste removal, and supporting general upkeep across offices, production areas, restrooms, breakrooms, and outdoor spaces.

Essential Functions

• Keep floors clean by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming as needed.
• Clean equipment and shared items such as machines, mixers, table racks, conveyors, dishes, and refrigerators.
• Dust office furniture and wipe down desks and other work surfaces.
• Maintain cleanliness in restrooms and breakrooms.
• Replenish restroom and breakroom supplies regularly.
• Collect and dispose of trash and recycling from cans throughout the site.
• Strip, clean, buff, and seal floors, and shampoo carpets when required.
• Make sure soap and paper towel dispensers remain stocked.
• Handle general cleanup by removing garbage and debris from all departments and assisting with weekly paint-area cleanup.
• Pick up litter in parking lots and around the buildings.
• Use required personal protective equipment, including protection from hazards such as hexavalent chromium.
• Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Education

A high school diploma or GED is required.

Experience

Prior experience in custodial or janitorial work is preferred.

Work Environment

This role may involve exposure to changing weather conditions, confined spaces, and heights greater than two stories.
