Internship Overview
The WordPress Development Internship is designed for enthusiastic learners seeking practical experience in WordPress development. This trainee role enables hands-on involvement with live projects while receiving mentorship from veteran developers. Trainees will undergo a 3 to 4-month structured program aimed at skill enhancement, progressing toward a potential full-time position contingent on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain WordPress websites using popular themes, templates, and page builders like Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, or Oxygen.
- Customize themes and templates under senior developers' supervision.
- Utilize PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript to implement and enhance website functionalities.
- Assist in the creation and management of WooCommerce based e-commerce stores.
- Build dynamic content sections using Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro), including Repeater Fields.
- Integrate REST APIs and connect third-party services with WordPress.
- Optimize websites to be responsive, user-friendly, SEO optimized, and performance-efficient.
- Conduct testing, troubleshoot bugs, and ensure quality before site deployment.
- Collaborate with multiple teams including designers and project coordinators to meet deadlines.
- Document all development activities, updates, and customizations clearly.
Candidate Requirements
- Minimum six months' practical WordPress development experience through internships, freelance projects, training, or live work.
- Solid understanding of the WordPress CMS.
- Familiarity with page builders: Elementor, WPBakery, Divi, or Oxygen.
- Basic skills in PHP and WordPress theme customization.
- Proficient in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and responsive design principles.
- Experience with Advanced Custom Fields (ACF Pro) is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of WooCommerce and e-commerce site development preferred.
- Understanding of REST API integrations and third-party connections preferred.
- Exposure to Shopify or Webflow platforms is an added advantage.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities and eagerness to learn.
