About the internship
Internship Overview
This internship offers hands-on experience supporting mergers and acquisitions (M&A) projects involving diverse stakeholders such as business buyers, sellers, private equity firms, investors, and business owners. You will contribute to various stages of deal execution primarily related to real estate, joint ventures, financing, and project management.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist ongoing M&A engagements by researching potential acquisition opportunities, strategic buyers, investors, and relevant industry trends.
- Support collection and preliminary evaluation of business and financial data including revenues, EBITDA, financial statements, ownership details, debts, assets, customer concentrations, and valuation benchmarks.
- Create and update detailed company profiles, acquisition teasers, summaries for buyers and sellers, research documents, presentations, transaction status trackers, and due diligence checklists.
- Compose professional communications such as introductory and follow-up emails, meeting recaps, information requests, and internal transaction updates.
- Coordinate with prospective buyers, sellers, investors, and business owners to schedule meetings and follow up on pending information and subsequent steps.
- Maintain comprehensive transaction records within the firm's CRM system, tracking stages, communication logs, pending items, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Provide preliminary financial analyses, comparable company research, valuation assistance, and prepare related Excel schedules.
- Organize and coordinate collection of financial, commercial, operational, and corporate documents for management and consulting advisors.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality standards regarding all sensitive transaction and company information.
Applicant Eligibility and Requirements
- Candidates must be able to work remotely from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm IST, aligning with company hours based in Canada.
- Application window is for internship start dates between October 15 and November 19, 2026.
- Internship duration is six months, requiring a commitment of approximately five hours daily and occasional calls overlapping Canadian business hours.
- Preferred candidates are MBA/PGDM students (finance, strategy, marketing, management), or those pursuing/completing MCom, BCom, BBA, BMS, economics, finance, accounting, or related fields; CA, CMA, CS, or CFA candidates are also welcome.
- Basic knowledge of financial statements, revenue metrics, profitability, EBITDA, working capital, debt, and business valuation is essential.
- Strong English communication skills (written and spoken), research capability, meticulous attention to detail, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint are required.
- Prior exposure to M&A, investment banking, private equity, corporate finance, valuation, financial modeling, business development, or CRM usage is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Interns must be comfortable interacting with entrepreneurs, investors, and senior business professionals, and agree to confidentiality and non-disclosure obligations.
- This is an active transaction-support role, not merely academic or data entry.
Compensation and Benefits
- Monthly stipend ranges from INR 16,000 to INR 20,000, which includes a fixed component of INR 15,000 plus performance-based incentives of INR 1,000 to INR 5,000.
